Somerset sound sorcerers Swine conjure geologies of noise and fractured landscapes, with shattered fragments of folk songs, dances and storiesMichael Fairfax plays instruments hewn from the woods around his home in the Somerset hills, Tim plays treated saxes and might hum a little.
Michael is a sculptor, environmental artist and sound artist, living in deepest Somerset surrounded by trees, woods, valleys, rivers, owls and ravens. As well as many public art commissions and residencies, he works with sound, creating instruments from live trees and roots, making instruments - sculptural instruments that are amplified and distorted and living sculptures. Tim Hill is a musician and performer making lots of noise in outdoor celebrations, theatre and music. He is also active in free improvisation and experimental music. Most recently he has been creating soundscape and drone material.
MATTHEW F MORRISwoodwinds and compositions
Matthew F Morris describes his music as being sometimes poignant, sometimes restful, sometimes tongue-in-cheek, always heartfelt. His most recent album titled 'Specifications' is best listened to as a journey from beginning to end with a preferred beverage. The aim was to create a feel-good album with a grown-up optimism for whatever comes next.
